AUN-QA accredits 03 programmes of Dalat University

     From November 28 to December 2, 2022, the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) organized the 307th assessment team for three programmes of Dalat University (DLU), including: Biotechnology, Agronomy and Business Administration.

     The assessment program was conducted in an online format. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the assessment on the morning of November 28, Dr. Mai Minh Nhat, Vice President of Dalat University welcomed the AUN-QA Secretariat and experts for the 307th AUN-QA online assessment. At the same time, the Vice President stated: Dalat University always constantly strive to improve quality, towards international standards. The assessment this time not only brought positive effects to the three programmes being assessed but also had great importance to other programmes of the University.

     During 5 working days, the 307th assessment team of AUN-QA worked with the self-assessment report team (SAR team), interviewed stakeholders (lecturers, staff, students, alumni, businesses), and visited facilities.

    At the closing ceremony of the assessment program that took place on the morning of December 2, 2022, the assessment team pointed out a number of strengths of the programmes such as the school’s vision, mission and educational philosophy demonstrated in the programmes; programmes are built according to CDIO output standards; the program is updated periodically and with the participation of stakeholders such as businesses, alumni, lecturers and students; the school’s facilities meet the needs… Besides, the delegation also had some suggestions for the improvement of the programmes such as strengthening exchange and international cooperation, and increasing the number of subjects taught in English.

    Representative of the assessment team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerardo Largoza, Member of the AUN-QA Council, affirmed that, with fairness and joint efforts, the results of external evaluation of the three programmes of Dalat University will contribute to a clearer identification of strengths and weaknesses so that there are solutions to continuously improve the quality of programmes to best meet the needs of learners, employers and stakeholders.

    The suggestions and recommendations of the experts will be an important basis for the University, faculties, departments, and each staff member, lecturer, and student to promote their strengths, and at the same time overcome limitations and implement the improvement roadmap according to the recommendations to improve the quality of the programmes in particular and of Dalat University in general.
