Dalat University is one of the first universities in the country to adjust and reduce tuition fees for the 2022-2023 school year in order to share the post-Covid-19 period difficulties with families having children attending the University

In September 2022, the President of Dalat University issued Decision No. 876/QD-DHDL on Regulations on the tuition fees of full-time programmes applied in the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year. According to this Decision, the tuition fee per credit of full-time programmes will be reduced by 13.5% to 26.4%. Thus, the tuition fee of Dalat University in the 2022-2023 school year ranges from 243,000 VND/credit to 400,000 VND/credit depending on the programme, equal to an average of 6 million VND to 7 million VND per semester.

In the 2022-2023 school year, universities will collect tuition fees according to the Government’s Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 stipulating the mechanism of collection and management of tuition fees for educational institutions under the national education system and policies on tuition fee exemption and reduction, and support for study expenses; service prices in the field of education and training. According to this Decree, public university tuition fees will increase for all different types of schools. In which, tuition fees for non-autonomous public universities ranging from 12 to 24.5 million VND per school year of 10 months. Public universities that cover their own recurrent expenditures are entitled to collect 24 – 49 million VND/year/student; The universities who self-finance their own recurrent and investment expenditures are entitled to collect 30 to more than 61 million VND/year/student.

However, at the Year End Conference to summarise the 2021-2022 school year and deploy the tasks of the 2022-2023 school year on August 12, 2022, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the Government agrees with the proposal of the Ministry, that the increase in tuition fees needs adjustment to lighten the difficulties after two years of Covid-19 and the Minister is developing an adjustment resolution.

The initiative to reduce tuition fees in the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year was implemented by Dalat University with the desire to share the common difficulties of society after the recent Covid-19 epidemic, especially with the families in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands having children studying at the University.

In addition, Dalat University also has many scholarship and encouragement policies for students with difficult circumstances and good academic records to support students during their study at the University.
