From July 17 to July 21, 2023, the International Mathematical Conference “Dynamical systems and Semi-algebraic geometry: interactions with Optimization and Deep Learning” was held at Dalat University, funded by the Research Council of Norway, Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF), and Dalat University with the participation of mathematicians, experts from relevant different fields, and students from 14 countries.
At the opening program on the morning of July 17, there were the attendances of Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh – Chairman of the DLU Board of Trustees, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice President of Dalat University, leaders and members of DLU departments and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, and graduate students of Dalat University. In particular, a large number of mathematicians, experts from relevant different fields, and students from 14 countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Austria, Norway, the United States, Japan, Vietnam (including universities and research institutes), China, Singapore, Korea, Canada, UK, etc attended this conference.
The conference on “Dynamical systems and Semi-algebraic geometry: interactions with Optimization and Deep Learning” was held from the initial idea of Prof. Truong Trung Tuyen from the University of Oslo (Norway) and mathematicians from Dalat University. This conference received 30 scientific reports from senior and junior researchers. All papers were reported and discussed face-to-face and online within 5 days.
The conference consists of both lecture series providing an overview of research fields and research talks which concentrate on more focused topics. The lecture series of Professor Jinqiao Duan provides students with useful knowledge of stochastic dynamical systems. Meanwhile, the lecture series of Professor Ta Le Loi provides basic knowledge of semi-algebraic geometry. Research talks also focus on interesting applications of stochastic dynamical systems and semi-algebraic geometry to optimization and deep learning.
