On the occasion of Vietnam Science and Technology Day, with the theme “Science, technology, and innovation – Accelerating the process of socio-economic recovery and development”, on May 15, 2022, the Faculty of Biology, Dalat University held the Seminar “Career orientation and innovation in Industry 4.0”
The programme was attended by leaders of businesses and research institutes; leaders of departments, faculties, research institutes, and students of Dalat University, and more than 200 teachers and students from 15 high schools in Lam Dong province.
The seminar programme was held in one day with many contents such as presentations from businesses; signing of a memorandum of understanding between businesses and the Faculty of Biology, Dalat University; discussion between businesses and students; job counseling and placement; exhibiting products from businesses and products from research activities of the Faculty of Biology, Dalat University.
Speaking at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tien – Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Dalat University stated: The goal of the Seminar is to promote the connection between experts, businesses, and scientists who have technological solutions related to the fields of research, production, processing, and trade; to present specific orientations and solutions from managers, scientists, and businesses, helping with career orientation and educational innovation in Industry 4.0.
The discussion content of the Seminar focused on the following aspects: (1) High-tech agriculture challenges and prospects in Industry 4.0; (2) IOT (Internet of Things) application in the field of Biology and Biotechnology; (3) The role of enterprises in supporting study, internship and research for students majoring in Biotechnology and Biology; (4) Innovation and entrepreneurship for students; (5) Job opportunities for students majoring in Biology and Biotechnology in Industry 4.0. The presentations focused on clarifying the role of career orientation in students’ choice of majors and careers, as well as the importance of innovation in Industry 4.0 in teaching, learning and researching.
Also at the seminar, Faculty of Biology – Dalat University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tra My Agricultural and Medicinal Products Joint Stock Company. The two sides agreed to cooperate with the goal of creating opportunities for students of Dalat University to access internship and job opportunities after graduation, and to improve the quality of human resources to serve recruitment needs of society.
In addition to exchange activities, the Faculty of Biology – Dalat University also cooperates with businesses to organise consultancy and job recruitment in the fields of biology, agriculture, etc. This is an event that helps students to show their own capacity and find job opportunities in the right major. Businesses not only introduce and orientate careers for high school students but also support students of Dalat University to better understand the work situation and the development of the industry so that students can promote their professional abilities and find good jobs.
Over the years, Dalat University has always paid attention to and focused on innovation in many fields, including technology application, with the goal of meeting new requirements of the working world in the context of Industry 4.0. In addition to developing technology applications for management and teaching, Dalat University also always focuses on developing the human factor, ensuring comprehensive innovation, and gradually bringing technology applications to the world.
