On the afternoon of March 29, 2021, the Dalat University Board of Trustees term 2019-2024 held its sixth regular meeting.
Under the chairmanship of Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh, the University Board of Trustees has discussed and approved 09 projects to offer undergraduate programmes at the University according to the report on appraisal of projects to offer undergraduate programmes of the Board of Trustees’ Training and Quality Management Board. Accordingly, the Board of Trustees assigns the President to decide base on current regulations to offer programmes under his competence; majors not included in the List of Level IV education and training at university level and pharmaceutical chemistry majors shall comply with current regulations.
The Board of Trustees also approved the policy on construction investment, repair, renovation and anti-degradation plan; procurement of goods, repair and maintenance of equipment, inspection work, training of human resources… using recurrent expenditures and funds of the University in 2021; added the item “Building mission, core values, cultural values, educational philosophy, strategy and development plan for the period 2021-2025 and vision for the following years” and adjusted the time for the tasks accordingly.
At this meeting, the Board of Trustees discussed and agreed to approve the contents of the President’s reports on the organizational structure, the list of job positions and the competency framework of the position; the plan to approve the accreditation of the educational quality of the programmes of the University. The University Board of Trustees agreed on the policy of strengthening links with businesses to establish research centers and institutes in the University in order to increase research capacity and revenue, assigned the President to direct the establishment of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Education and Macadamia Research Institute at Dalat University.
This meeting continues to demonstrate the role of the Board of Trustees in university governance, and at the same time affirms the unity and consensus of the university’s leaders and high determination to successfully carry out their tasks in 2021 and strategic goals in the coming time.
