On the morning of April 28, 2022, at Dalat University, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” held a club meeting in Lam Dong province. This is an opportunity to meet and to connect philanthropists and volunteers wishing to act for the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa.
The programme was attended by Ms. Truong My Hoa – Former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Chairman of the Club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa”; Lieutenant General Pham Van Dy – Former Political Commissar of the 7th Military Zone; Mr. Dang Tri Dung – Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee; together with leaders of the Veterans Association, Department of Education and Training, Lam Dong Provincial HCM Communist Youth Union and members of the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa”; On the side of Dalat University, there were the attendance of Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President and students of Dalat University.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Truong My Hoa said: After 8 years of establishment and operation, the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” has continuously grown with many activities towards the sea and islands of Vietnam, contributing to officers, soldiers and fishermen who are working day and night by the sea to preserve the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the homeland. Currently, the club has 135 collective members with 32 overseas units and 2,997 individual members. In which, in Lam Dong province, there are 4 collective members and 95 individual members. Ms. Truong My Hoa shared: Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 with the goal of helping students from ethnic minorities in mountainous areas and islands; children of the navy, coast guard, border guard, etc. to overcome difficulties and study well; contributing to building facilities to serve the cause of education in order to implement the policy of great national unity of the Party and the State.
At the meeting, Dalat University also gave 30 million VND to Truong Sa soldiers and people and 30 million VND to support the Fund “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa”. According to Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President of Dalat University, a member of the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa”, in the past years, Dalat University has had many activities to propagate and educate students about the love for the homeland’s sea and islands, and the responsibility to protect the sacred sovereignty of the country. In the coming time, the university commits to continue to actively participate in all activities of the club, ready to accompany the club in material and spiritual aspects, and well complete the assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” admitted new members and awarded membership recognition boards to 02 units and gave membership cards to 17 individuals in the province. In addition, in order to continue to support disadvantaged ethnic minority students with good academic achievements, at the meeting, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” awarded 50 Vu A Dinh scholarships to 50 ethnic minority students in Dalat city, each including 1 million VND and gifts in kind; donated 14 bicycles to 14 ethnic minority students in Dam Rong district; giving 10 health insurance cards for the school year 2022 – 2023 to 10 ethnic minority students in Da Teh district.
At the programme, Lieutenant General Pham Van Dy – Former Political Commissar of the 7th Military Zone presented the Certificate of Merit from the Navy Command to Dalat Agri Foods Company for its outstanding achievements in activities to support Hoang Sa-Truong Sa. At the same time, he also share with members of the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” in Lam Dong province and students of Dalat University about hot issues of the world and the East Sea today.
