On the morning of January 14, 2020, at the meeting room of building A11, the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment held a Seminar on Cooperation in education and research. The Seminar was attended by Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President of Dalat University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Diep – Dean of Faculty of Chemistry and Environment; representatives of the partners of the Faculty, the staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment. The seminar is an opportunity for Dalat University in general and the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment in particular to work with agencies and businesses related to the field of chemistry and environment to learn more about education activities, research of the Faculty and the University, as well as the actual requirements of enterprises for human resources in this field.
In recent years, by actively promoting cooperation with agencies and businesses, the University has made adjustments to improve education quality day by day to promptly adapt to the needs of society. At Dalat University, the association with research units and businesses is conducted from the beginning to the end of the education process, namely, cooperating to build educational programmes, offering new programmes, reviewing and adjusting the educational programme, inviting experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs to teach a number of modules or share experiences on starting a business; facilitating the internship process for students. In addition, businesses also actively accompany the University in equipping career skills and creating jobs for graduates. Besides, the feedback and evaluation of research agencies, enterprises, employers about the university’s work efficiency and graduate quality is also an important information source for the University to make timely adjustments to the educational programme, content, and teaching methods. In addition, Dalat University also implemented many research cooperation programmes with research institutes and enterprises to carry out research projects. Many research products of the university are transferred to businesses to make products for the market.
Speaking at the Seminar, Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President of Dalat University expressed his joy and thanks to agencies and businesses. He highly appreciated the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment for taking the initiative in promoting the linkage between Dalat University and research units and enterprises. The Vice President affirmed that Dalat University is always interested in cooperating with businesses, research institutions, domestic and foreign partners in education and research activities. This is an important factor contributing to improving the quality of teaching and research of the University, and at the same time better meeting the needs of society.
At the Seminar, Dr. Mai Minh Nhat on behalf of Dalat University signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the University and businesses such as: Lam Dong Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Testing Centre; Pasteur Dalat One Member Limited Liability Company; Lam Dong Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company – Ladophar; Analysis Centre – Dalat Nuclear Research Institute; Centre For Applications of Nuclear Technique in Industry; Lam Dong Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company; Dalat centralised wastewater treatment enterprise; Green Urban Environment Technology Trading Services Limited Company; Mien Nam Enviromental Technology Joint Stock Company; Viet Natural Resources Consulting Limited Company; Viet Environment Limited Company; Dai Viet Environment Development Investment Corporation – Central Highlands region; Gia Hung Phat Water Treatment Limited Company.
The contents of the Memorandum of Understanding have been discussed and agreed upon by the parties. Accordingly, agencies, businesses, and Dalat University will cooperate in research, technology transfer, short-term training, organising seminars, exchanging experts, and sharing experiences in the field of natural resources – environment, pharmaceutical materials, and pharmaceutical chemistry; Based on the needs of enterprises, the University will provide human resources with high qualifications and suitable expertise; Agencies and businesses support students of the University to visit and perform internship when possible; The university will support agencies and businesses in recruiting workers, sharing academic resources (except in cases of copyright with a third party), etc. Specific cooperation areas were discussed in detail by businesses and the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment in the Seminar and will be gradually put into practice in the near future.
