Responding to the letter calling for support for the prevention and control of covid-19 dated September 15, 2021 of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Dalat University contributed an additional 50 million VND to the Fund for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Lam Dong Province.
On the morning of October 12, 2021, the delegation of Dalat University included Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Vice President; Ms. Le Thi Quynh Hao – Chairman of the Trade Union of the University; Mr. Phan Tuan Anh – Deputy Head of the Department of Personnel and Administration went to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province to give an amount of 50 million VND in support to the province’s Covid-19 prevention and control fund. This amount is deducted from the University’s welfare fund. This amount is deducted from the University’s welfare fund.
The complicated and unpredictable development of the Covid-19 epidemic requires the solidarity and cooperation of the whole society to prevent and reverse the epidemic, especially in the period of accelerating the speed of vaccination and stabilising the people’s life in the new situation. From that awareness, the collective of staff and students of Dalat University wishes to contribute to the prevention and control of Covid-19 of Lam Dong province in particular and the whole country in general through many epidemic prevention and control activities with practical significance, including contributing to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control fund.
Specifically, Dalat University has been active in the prevention and control of Covid-19 since the first days when the epidemic appeared in Vietnam. The university has implemented many measures to prevent and control the epidemic such as: Thoroughly grasping the content of the central and local instructions on epidemic prevention and control; Establishing a Rapid Response Team; Issuing notices and instructions on epidemic prevention and control to all staff and learners; Arranging personnel on duty all days of the week to promptly handle arising situations; spraying disinfectant and cleaning the campus. The Party Committee and Executive Board of the University called for the sense of responsibility, activeness and initiative of the units in the University in order to effectively implement disease prevention and control, contributing to protecting the people’s health.
In August 2021, the Trade Union of Dalat University provided green vegetables for staff of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City with a total value of 39 million VND; In September 2021, all staff of Dalat University contributed at least one day’s salary to support the programme “Computer for children” launched by the Ministry of Education and Training with a total amount of more than 97 million dong; Up to now, all officials and employees of the University have been vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. In particular, in September 2021, nearly 20 students of Dalat University joined the volunteer squad to go to support Ho Chi Minh City against the Covid-19 epidemic. Before leaving, the student volunteers were vaccinated with at least 1 dose, tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, had good health conditions and received professional training, ensuring completion of assigned tasks.
