Dalat University celebrated the 36th Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2018)

At 08:00 on November 19, 2018, at the Central Library Hall, Dalat University (DLU) solemnly held the 36th Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2018).

Attending the ceremony, there were were Colonel, Dr. Tran Van Thanh, Deputy Director of Da Lat Army Academy; Dr. Nguyen Trong Ngo, Deputy Director of Nuclear Research Institute; Mr. Yoo Tea Hyun, Former Korean Ambassador in Vietnam, Professor Emeritus of Dalat University.

On the side of DLU, there were Dr. Le Minh Chien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President in charge; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao The Trinh, Chairman of the DLU Board of Trustees; Comrades in the Party Committee and the University Executive Board, leaders of the University over the years, foreign lecturers working at the University, staff, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students of the University.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Minh Chien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President in charge recalled the tradition of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20); stated the contributions of generations of lecturers to the development of the University as well as the cause of education and training of the country; thanked all staff at faculties, departments, centers and institutes who have always made great efforts to develop Dalat University to a high position in term of quality as it is today.

On behalf of DLU leadership, Dr. Le Minh Chien thanked the Ministry of Education and Training, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Committee, the Departments of Lam Dong province; organizations and individuals who have given their precious affection, help and cooperation to Dalat University during the past years.

At the ceremony, Dalat University also announced the decisions of the Ministry of Education and Training: awarding medals “For the cause of Education” to 04 individuals; Outstanding Labor Collective Title for 09 units; Certificate of Merit from the Minister for 06 individuals who have made many contributions to building the unit; Certificate of Merit from the Minister for 02 collectives and 06 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement “Innovation in teaching and learning” in the 2016-2020 period. On this occasion, the university’s leaders also gave flowers to 10 new doctoral graduates who successfully completed the task of studying to improve their qualifications in the 2017-2018 school year.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, Dalat University is honored to welcome delegations of leaders of the province, Dalat city, agencies and departments, businesses and affiliates, alumni, and students to visit, give flowers, and send congratulatory flower baskets.
