In celebration of the 97th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2022), Dalat University Journal of Science received good news: Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut – Alumnus of the Faculty of Biology, Dalat University; Member of the Editorial Board of Dalat University Journal of Science – was invited to join the Editorial Board of Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture (PCTOC): Journal of Plant Biotechnology of the prestigious publisher Springer.
Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut is currently Deputy Director of Tay Nguyen Institute, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Member of the Dalat University’s Board of Trustees; Member of the Editorial Board of Dalat University Journal of Science.
This is not only the honor of the Professor but also the pride of generations of lecturers and students of Dalat University since being invited to join the editorial board of prestigious international journals with high credibility is one of the vivid manifestations of a scientist’s stature in the international science community. . In the academic world, a scientist’s international stature is often expressed through two main pillars:
- International research credibility: Expressed through the productivity and quality of international publications. Research productivity is the number of works published in prestigious journals of the discipline; Publication quality is measured by several objective metrics such as Citations and H-index.
- International academic authority: This is demonstrated by the fact that the scientist is trusted by the community, and is invited to join the editorial boards of highly prestigious journals of the discipline; serve as members of the committees for reviewing and appointing academic titles; participate in the councils of science and technology development funds to approve research topics/projects; be the main speaker in plenary sessions of prestigious conferences of the discipline, or chair the parallel reporting sessions of such conferences.
