Welcome to Dalat University!
Dalat University (DLU) is a public university established in 1976 as the successor to The Catholic University of Dalat, a higher education institution established in 1958. Set in Dalat, the beautiful city of flowers, and with a long tradition, Dalat University is increasingly affirming its position as a centre of education, scientific research, and technology transfer of top quality in the Central Highlands, and as an important place in the higher education system of the country.
Dalat University has highly qualified, ethical, and dedicated lecturers and scientists. The total number of employees is nearly 500, of which 120 (38%) have the title of associate professor or a doctoral degree, and 210 have a master’s degree. The enrolment exceeds 11,000 domestic and international students and trainees, with three levels: doctoral (6 programmes), master’s (9 programmes), and undergraduate (41 programmes). The majors belong to three divisions: social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and technology, economics – law – tourism – foreign language – education.
Dalat University has been recognised as meeting the educational quality standards issued by the Minister of Education and Training and is an official member of the ASEAN University Network–Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) network. The University’s journal is one of the first six Vietnamese academic journals to be accepted into the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI).
Dalat University has effective cooperative relationships with many universities, research institutes, and domestic and foreign private enterprises in training, research, and recruitment. Every year, students of the university receive scholarships from the Imex Pan Pacific Group, CJ Cultural Foundation (Korea), Asian Development Foundation (Korea), G-Friends (Korea), Shinhan Bank in Vietnam, Samsung Electronics Thai Nguyen Company, the Korea Foundation, etc. The university has an ideal learning environment, with spacious and modern facilities set on a wooded landscape and enjoying the mild climate of the tourist city of Dalat.
Currently, with the educational philosophy of ‘Cultivation of human values – Liberal education – Identity’, Dalat University is constantly innovating and improving in quality to give students the best conditions to gain knowledge and to comprehensively develop the skills, qualities, and attitudes to meet the needs of development and international integration.
