FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND POWERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

<\/strong>I. Functions<\/strong>
Advising the President on the management and development of full-time educational programmes. Managing and organising formal educational activities for the university. Managing the development of new and existing educational programmes.
II. Duties and powers<\/strong>
1. Developing an educational development strategy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a) Helping the President formulate the university\u2019s educational development strategy, including researching and developing educational objectives, processes, and methods<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b) Preparing dossiers for offering new programmes and submitting the dossiers to the Science and Training Council to be approved for submission to the Ministry of Education and Training for approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c) Cooperating in the development, implementation, and management of projects to improve educational quality, including adding equipment, compiling curricula, and modernising educational programmes and teaching methods in accordance with the requirements of global development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d) Setting up annual enrolment targets for educational programmes and creating plans to allocate enrolment quotas to the faculties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Setting up educational programmes and organising the educational process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a) Standing in the educational programme building and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b) Developing long-term and annual educational plans, and educational plans for each semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c) Cooperating in managing the content of subjects included in the educational programme.
d) Presiding over the assignment of classrooms and making timetables for each class.
e) Cooperating to supervise and check the implementation of the training progress of the units.
f) Setting up a system of textbooks and materials for teaching and learning. Make an annual plan for the compilation and printing of textbooks and reference materials.
g) Cooperating with faculties and centres to develop short-term educational programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Organising the admission process<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a) Developing joint plans and training contracts according to current statutes and regulations.
b) Organising the admission process following the relevant statutes and performing the following tasks: receiving application documents, making a list of candidates, preparing the entrance examination, marking the exam papers, compiling the results of the entrance examination and admission list, issuing summons, keeping enrolment records, etc.
c) Cooperating closely with the Department of Student Affairs in receiving successful candidates and classifying students for management and related activities during the implementation of the education programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Implementation of education management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a) Setting up and disseminating education statutes and regulations and inspecting the implementation of documents on education guidelines, statutes, and regulations in units.
b) Cooperating with faculties and laboratories in disseminating teaching, learning, and testing evaluation methods and technologies to continuously improve educational quality.
c) Organising educational conferences and seminars.
d) Managing and storing all educational records and student learning results, and copying and issuing academic transcripts to students.
e) Performing procedures for students to practice according to the plan (provide dispatch and recommendation letters).
f) Preparing documents on study results for approval of graduation, university transfers, etc.
g) Writing and issuing diplomas to students based on graduation decisions.
h) Cooperating with the units and the Department of Personnel and Administration in assessing the quality of teaching and performing procedures to invite visiting lecturers to participate in teaching, internship guidance, or thesis and dissertation guidance when required.
i) Cooperating in the development of an annual plan for allocation and use of financial resources for education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Cooperating with the Department of Inspection and Legal Affairs, the Department of Testing and Accreditation, and related units to organise the inspection, supervision, and assessment of educational activities and their suitability to the needs of employers as the basis for modernising and improving curricula and teaching methods.
6. Managing blank diploma degrees and assuming the prime responsibility for coordinating with the relevant units to carry out procedures for granting diplomas.
7. Organising research to identify educational needs, introducing and organising promotional activities for the faculties.
8. Performing statistical analyses and reporting according to regulations; cooperating with functional units to perform tasks that arise during the university\u2019s operation.
